SHOOTING ME SOFTLY

The indiscrete fascination of war simulation

It was more of a sort of curiosity, I had already heard about it and I wanted to attend an airsoft match... these guys who dress like soldiers and go shooting at each other in the middle of the woods. I don't know what drives people to wake up at dawn on the weekend and dress like they're going to war, I don't understand, but they seem to be having a lot of fun. Maybe it's just the zeitgeist of our days.

The practice of airsoft was born in Japan in the 1980s and subsequently spread throughout the world in the 1990s, first of all in the USA, which was thus offered the possibility of bringing gun maniacs closer to doomsday clock maniacs with the result of giving life to a new form of psychopaths with a better military background.

Jokes aside, airsoft does not seem to be frequented by violent people, on the contrary, I met very kind guys, often linked to the world of video games, who see in this discipline a moment to get together and be together.

In essence, airsoft is a team sport based on the simulation of military actions that involves the use of replicas of equipment used by armies around the world. The replicas of firearms work with compressed air and shoot small 6 mm plastic pellets. Today, airsoft in Italy is a sport recognized by CONI and is constantly growing, involving teenagers and middle-aged people across the board.
